Khanpur Dam, one of the most magnificent dams of Pakistan, is built over Haro River which originates from Abbottabad. In addition, this lake was built in 1953 along with construction of Khanpur Dam Spillway, which is 52 meters (170 feet) high, and Khanpur Dam area is up to 110,000 acre-feet of water.
